Some of my confusion must have shown on my face, because his smile widened. He ran his hands through his hair, made the thickness of it stand up even more. He kissed me, and the kiss was gentle, but not chaste. Truthfully, I thought a lot of the damage had been my grandmother's doing, and my stepmother, Judith, who made every touch some sort of favor.
